ZIMBABWEAN WOMEN NOMINATED FOR YOUNG GLOBAL LEADERS NETWORK AFRICA ACHIEVERS AWARD IN GHANA
Minister of Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation Dr Kirsty Coventry, poet Rachael Voko and popular dancehall songstress Anita Jaxson have been nominated for the 2021 Young Global Leaders Network (YGNL) Africa Achievers Awards.
The awards which will be held on the 25th to the 27th of November in Accra Ghana this year are a subsidiary of the African Leaders Summit which provides a platform for start-ups to pitch their innovations or business ideas and seek business partnership and investment.
Tinashe Ngirandi, the countries YGNL director, stated that the summit which started in 2019 focuses on various topics that pertain to economic empowerment, politics, climate change and entrepreneurship development.
“We’ve been asked to provide eight nominations of women who are doing well,” he said. Also, part of the nominated are Hon. Joanna Ruvimbo Mamombe. Mrs. Elizabeth Machacha and Ms. Barbara Chidziva.
This is a full circle moment from Zimbabwean Youth and Women considering the Government’s Vision 2030 directive that encourages innovation and self-sustaining entrepreneurship amongst the Zimbabwean youth.
