CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION, KEYS TO AFRICA’S DEVELOPMENT: ED
President Emmerson Mnangagwa has challenged Africa’s leaders to be more assertive in protecting the continent’s unique creativity, innovation and rich culture.
The President said this while officiating at the ongoing 18th session of the African Regional Intellectual Property Organisation ARIPO in Victoria Falls today.
President Mnangagwa said intellectual property is a critical driver for the trade and socio-economic policies of any nation through driving economic growth and competitiveness.
He challenged ARIPO to implement strategies that protect creativity, innovation and culture in the wake of fourth industrial revolution in a globalised world.
The African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO), formerly known as the African Regional Industrial Property Organization, is an intergovernmental organization for cooperation among African states in patent and other intellectual property matters.
