President Emmerson Mnangagwa in his new year address said that 2022 is the year of growth, as Zimbabweans there is need to find out what that means for us and how to take part in it.
How can we grow when people opt to leave at the first chance they get to leave the country in search of a better standard of living? The environment is not conducive for them to think of taking part of this growth because they want to be able to live a life where they can afford basic needs like housing, food and medical treatment. For Zimbabwe to grow, there is need for sacrifice and hard work to be put in by citizens.
It is no secret that living in Zimbabwe is hard, it is draining and it needs tenacity. This means we all need to strap our boots and put politics aside (because we have waddled in this pit for far too long). We need to find a way to circumvent our differences and take part in growing our nation.
We need to be part of the real world and contribute to the growth we need, we need to define what growth means for us as a nation, we need to choose the kind of growth we need, take that choice to heart and run with it.
The nation is ours, our future is ours, build it or break it, it’s up to us. We are not getting any younger but we are getting wiser by the day. Choose growth, your own definition of growth, positive growth that you will be proud of and run with it!
