NRZ’s new manager determined to put the house in order

The National Railways of Zimbabwe appointed the first ever female General manager in 2021. The seasoned lawyer who has over 18 years of technical and management experience has made no mistake in showing her intentions to make NRZ a force to reckon with.
In an interview with Sunday News, the NRZ new General manager, Ms Respina Zinyanduko, stated that the parastatal is planning on curbing the abuse and financial losses of their real estate stream of income.
Reportedly, the state owned enterprise lost over $30 million from paying utility bills in assets they lost over 20 years ago. NRZ was also losing close to $25 million annually to space barons who are paying very low charges and subletting them at very high prices.
The parastatal has also lost profits through the business dealings made by corrupt committees formed within the company and illegally sold land by local authorities.
Ms Zinyanduko is driven to make a difference in the underperforming parastatal which swept all these matters under the rug. Being approved by President Mnangagwa, the newly appointed General Manager is set to make an outstanding impression to her superiors, colleagues and the public as a whole.
