Chief Justice Luke Malaba has officially opened the 2022 legal year.
Speaking at the opening ceremony in Harare today, Chief Justice Malaba bemoaned the COVID-19 situation the world is facing, adding that judiciary was not spared from the negative effects of the pandemic, which resulted in the backlog of court cases.
He however said the procurement of data centre equipment for the judiciary sector is in process as the adoption of digital technology is key in upholding the rule of law.
Chief Justice Malaba said the use of ICT is critical in the sector as a means of ensuring that the justice system is applied efficiently in Zimbabwe.
