ZIMBABWE RECEIVES BILLION DOLLAR INVESTMENTS

Zimbabwe continues with its quest to engage and re-engage with different countries, with at least 1.8 billion United States dollars being invested in the country in 2021.
This is despite the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic which resulted in lockdowns and travel bans.
Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency (ZIDA), acting Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Duduzile Shinya revealed that sectors such as mining and agriculture had the highest figures.
Mrs Shinya outlined future plans on investment opportunities saying the agency has asked companies, local authorities and others to submit investment opportunities in their areas and is also tracking these investors to check on implementation of the approved projects.
Zimbabwe’s economy is expected to grow by 5.5 percent this year.
