Illegal agents running down the real estate business

Unregistered real estate agents who have been engaging in unorthodox business practices continue to pose a threat to the goodwill and credit of the real estate business.
The real estate industry is one of the most lucrative industry in the global economy. With how profitable the market is, it is not uncanny to encounter perpetrators disguised as professionals.
In an interview with AlphaVisionZim, a veteran real estate agent stated that, for one to be an agent in Zimbabwe, they have to carry out all the required courses by the Estate Agency Council of Zimbabwe. She further commented that, “bogus estate agents are making clients pay a certain amount first before they find a place, it is illegal and I would urge the public to take time to get in touch with registered agents. It will ensure that they will not be taken advantage of.”
The Estate Agency Council, which is responsible for carrying out the required legal actions against these individuals, have not made any substantial efforts towards protecting their registered agents and the public.
