As the world celebrated world radio day yesterday the Chiredzi community joined in by coming together to launch Avuxeni community radio station.
The Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Senator Monica Mutsvangwa was guest of honour at the official launch.
Addressing scores of people who gathered for the event, Senator Mutsvangwa said the Second Republic is committed to bridging the gap between rural and urban communities.
She said Avuxeni Community Radio Station will be crucial in marketing the lowveld region and its potential.
“I am excited to launch this station today. The station is beautiful and this will make a positive impact on Chiredzi district. The station will also market the raw talent in Chiredzi,” she mentioned.
