By Staff Reporter

The government says it is implementing structures to increase the amount of fuel stations that offer the commodity in Zimbabwe dollars.

Speaking during a Senate Question and Answer Session, at the Parliament Building in Harare, Deputy Minister of Energy and Power Development, Honourable Magna Mudyiwa said government has made it a priority for fuel in the local currency to be available at more stations.

He said, currently around 60 fuel stations are selling fuel in Zimbabwe dollars which is not ideal since the majority of people transact in the local currency.

Honorable Mudyiwa also answered questions on the increase in load shedding that the country is currently experiencing to which he responded that only three units are working at Hwange Power Station.

He said “Currently, we have three units out of six working at Hwange Power Station. As a result, our load-shedding schedule has increased.”
