ALL SET FOR ZIMBABWE’S 2022 CENSUS
By Staff Reporter
Zimbabwe will hold its national census this year amid revelations that much of the groundwork needed has been covered.
The critical stage of field mapping for the 2022 National Population and Housing Census is now complete and equipment for the digital aspect of the census is now available.
Zimstat Director for Demography and Social Statistics, Mr Aluwisio Mukavhi said the enumeration exercise will be conducted from the 21st to the 30th of April.
Speaking at a training workshop for enumerators in Harare today, Mr Mukavhi said they have tested the machinery and everything is all set.
He however bemoaned that the self-enumeration service platform is not yet available online, forcing them to resort to the now outdated use of physical enumerators for data collection.
“We do not have that facility as yet, so people have to be cooperative with the enumerators who will be moving door to door.”
