It’s Time to Focus on Economics over Politics.
For some of the most complex questions Zimbabweans have, the right answer is often quite simple.
Zimbabwe’s economic landscape has made many scratch their heads in bewilderment for more than 20 years. Zimbabweans have lost trust and confidence in their financial institutions. Some businesses disregard some of the key fundamentals that ensure all stakeholders benefit from their operations.
However, it is important to note that some Zimbabweans are making things harder for themselves. Focusing on issues that will not directly improve their standard of living.
One of the smartest people who ever lived, Albert Einstein, stated that insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results.
Moreover, a number of Zimbabweans have an obsession with politics. This is an obsession that has deep roots. Others disregard the golden opportunities in place just because the Government is spearheading them.
Moreso, they choose politics over economics. They focus on power over unity and poverty over prosperity. Some Zimbabweans prefer to suffer than take the opportunities offered by the Government to improve their lives.
Additionally, some of the mines that are there are predominantly under foreigners. All the while some scoff at the “Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo” mantra. When the value of this mantra must help to better position oneself for prosperity.
5 years went by just like that. Some Zimbabweans bought houses and cars. Others have made different lucrative investments after deciding to take the right opportunities. Moreso, they position themselves to benefit from all opportunities present. They ensure they take part in them to help themselves and future generations.
Maybe it’s time for Zimbabweans to choose prosperity over poverty if not, for themelves, then for their families and the nation as a whole. Because our nation needs people just like them. To be pace setters so others can follow.
